The Dragon

The S-shaped motifs, stylized images of dragons, have been a principal decorative element in Azerbaijan since ancient times. Appearing in carpets between the 14th and 15th centuries, these motifs coincided with the explosive growth of the Silk Route's influence. Inspired by Azerbaijani heritage, our design celebrates the majestic essence of this mythical creature, an emblem of prosperity and strength.

The Medallion

Many Guba carpets are distinguished by their central medallions, key focal points of the composition, often symbolizing a flower or fire, reflecting the overarching theme of the carpet. These medallions are the hallmark of carpets from the Guba-Shirvan region. Similarly, on kelagayi scarves, these patterns may be arranged in a single row or multiple rows, seamlessly integrating into the overall design and enhancing the aesthetic continuity between these traditional textiles.
